My Advocacy and Volunteer work is extremely important to me. Channelling my passion, working alongside so many others and making sure their voices (with their preferred communication method) are heard, listened to and acted upon is something I just do.
I can often be found contacting organisations, the media and professionals asking them to enter into a dialogue so that they better understand what it means to be Neurodivergent and to reframe any outdated knowledge and understanding. Neurotypical Professionals who learn from the Neurodivergent community are instrumental in our onward journey.
I help to run a support group for PDAers and their families across the South West. PDA Together not only listens to and works alongside individuals, but also fights to ensure everyone's voices are heard.
I'm honoured to be part of the amazing Neurodiverse team at Aucademy: a Neurodivergent led "home for Autistic learning and the education of non-Autistic people about Autistic experience." I upload videos about my personal Autistic journey I co-present on broadcasts and co-present on the podcast "Especially Interesting" where Neurodivergent individuals discuss what they are passionate about and info dump about their favourite subjects.
I have teamed up with PDA Dad UK and we have created a fascinating Vodcast called Across the Neurodivide which explores both of our journeys in Neurotypical and Neurodivergent families and environments.
I am also extremely active within my own County. I'm often networking with other groups/organisations and attending meetings with local authorities, health, care and educational establishments.
I volunteer for the National Autistic Society Cornwall Branch. I run their Facebook page and attend committee meetings.
I'm proud to be regularly invited to deliver talks, family events, Facebook Live appearances and be a guest on many podcasts.
